Zimbabwe President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is finally in Malawi for a three-day state visit at the invitation of President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera.
Mnangagwa arrived through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at 16:00 Hours and was welcomed by his hosting counterpart and other government, traditional and religious dignitaries.
The Zimbabwe leader inspected Guard of Honour mounted by the Malawi Defence Force to mark the beginning of his historic visit to the Republic of Malawi.
During the State Visit, His Excellency Cde Dr. Mnangagwa will, among other engagements, hold bilateral talks with His Excellency the President Dr. Chakwera, visit Tobacco Auction Floors in Lilongwe, hold discussions with Zimbabweans resident in Malawi, and visit some areas devastated by Tropical Cyclone Freddy.
The State Visit will consolidate the already strong Malawi-Zimbabwe bilateral relations which are based on mutual interest to uplift the standards of living of the people of the two countries, historical ties, traditional people-to-people exchanges, and shared interests in international socio-economic and geo-political developments across the globe.
Mnangagwa will depart Malawi at the end of the three-day visit through Chileka International Airport on Friday, 2nd June, 2023, at 15:20 hours.
