    MALAWI’S FIRST COUPLE EULOGIZES QUEEN ELIZABETH II 

    Malawi’s first couple has joined the rest of the world in mourning the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

    According to the State House press statement, President Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera have been saddened by the passing of the longest serving monarch. The State House says the first couple have long been inspired by Queen Elizabeth’s service to humankind, dedication to duty and devotion to God.

    “We join the rest of the world in mourning her passing and appreciate the life of generosity to mankind, devotion to duty, service to the country, dedication to family, and faith in God that she ably and humbly embolds.”

    Queen Elizabeth II served as the Queen of Malawi between 1964 and 1966 when the country transitioned to Republic status.

    The Queen died on Thursday aged 96. She ruled Britain for seven decades.
