    CHAKWERA URGES MALAWIANS TO BE OF SERVICE TO HUMANKIND

    President Lazarus Chakwera presided over the Malawi Red Cross Flag Week at Kamuzu Palace on Thursday. According to the message posted on his Facebook page, President Chakwera reminded Malawians the need of unity as one people regardless of the differences which exists among Malawians

    ‘’This week is a stark reminder that we are all members of one family, the human family and that the divisions and conflicts we generate and others are manufactured,’’ said Chakwera during the inauguration of the Flag Week at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

    The president also commended the role the Malawi Red Cross Society plays in supporting the vulnerable in countries across the world through volunteers.

    Chakwera: Serve humankind

    President Chakwera asked Malawians to join hands to support the Society in its quest to serve the human kind

    “The enviable spirit of volunteering calls for our joint efforts to help the Society build adequate capacity to serve mankind said the president. Even without government subvention we must still support the Society through various means, the flag week inclusive, so that it runs its operations effectively,” said Chakwera.

    The theme of this years Flag Week is Be Humankind. During the event President Chakwera donated K2 Million towards to the Society. The National Flag Week follows the commemoration of Red Crescent Day and Red Cross Day which falls on 8 May every.
