    CHAKWERA TO TALK TRADE & INVESTMENT BESIDES CORONATION EVENT

    President Lazarus Chakwera has indicated that apart from attending the coronation of King Charles the Third, he will take his visit to the United Kingdom as an opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with other global leaders and business captains.

    The President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera arrived in London, United Kingdom on Thursday where he will join more than 200 global leaders and dignitaries for the ceremony.

    Upon arrival at Heathrow International Airport, President Chakwera was welcomed by some high ranking officials from the British Royal Family and a delegation from the Malawi Embassy in the United Kingdom led by Thomas Bisika, Malawi High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and his Deputy Justice Agness Patemba.

    Beside attending the coronation, President Chakwera has lined up several engagements with global leaders, business captains and other foreign dignitaries.

    On his departure, Wednesday President Chakwera said the meetings are aimed at fostering diplomatic and trade ties with a number of countries.

    Additionally, the Malawi State President will attend the Commonwealth High-Level event in London.

    Writing about the trip on his Facebook page, President Chakwera stressed the need for Commonwealth member countries in particular and the world at large to come together and celebrate the British monarch whose influence touches every corner of the world.

    “Malawi, as a member of Commonwealth, joins the British people in celebrating traditions and rituals around their monarch,” he said.

    King Charles’s coronation attendance will be strictly by invitation. President Chakwera is among 202 global leaders who have been invited to attend.
