Malawi President has joined football loving Malawians in mourning legendary former national team goalkeeper Boniface Maganga who passed away on Monday 8n Blantyre.
In a State House statement, the President described the passing of Maganga as a great loss to the football community in the country and the world.
“His passing is a great loss to the football community and in the country and beyond,” reads the statement.

Maganga was regarded as the finest goalkeeper of his era during his hey days in the 70s and 80s when he played for Yamaha Wanderers (now Mukuru Wanderers) and the national team.
He will be fondly remembered for his heroics between the sticks when Malawi won the East and Central Africa Senior Challenge Cup in 1978 and 1979.
He has died at the age of 60 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital after a long battle with leg problem.
