His Excellency Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has delegated former President Dr Joyce Banda to represent him at the funeral of late Mwai Kibaki, who until his death, was Kenya’s Former President.
“I am honoured to be delegated by President Chakwera to represent him and Malawians at the funeral. Late Kibaki was a distinguished economist and true son of Africa”, said Madame Joyce Banda.
Late Kibaki made a State Visit to Malawi when Dr Joyce Banda was President of Malawi and together they launched the Lilongwe West bypass Road.
He died on 21 April 2022 after serving as Kenya’s 3rd President between December 2002 and April 2013.
His Excellency Dr Lazarus MacCathy Chakwera also sent a message of condolence to the people of Kenya for the loss of the great man.
